Syria: Rachel Maddow Does Good Journalism

Although unlikely to win any further faint praise from Russia Today's lead attack-dog Abbey Martin for producing another one of her "epic rants", this measured and excellent analysis by our Saphic Siren may have done enough to herself sufficient goodwill with Putin's people to place her firmly back out of the warning zone and on her way to being in Russia's good graces.

They might be prepared to cut her some slack on the Tsarnaev trial, provided she not get suckered into the growing movement to organise a mass global movement to boycott the Russian Olympics by holding them to ransom over LGBT rights, an act of conscious hostility and conscious diplomatic insult in public in forums like the UN by the likes of Ambassador Elizabeth Power.

As President Carter remarked tactfully, discreetly and shrewdly when questionned regarding issues such as Tibet and the like in the run-up to the Beijing Games in 2008, "I think we here in America should really think very carefully, and temper our rhettoric for the time being over the next few years as regards Human Rights abuses on the part of the Chinese, or indeed of anyone else...."

The United Nations Security Council, or indeed the General Assembly, is indeed NO PLACE for angry, ginger human rights advocates or indeed anyone else to be angrily belittling the Russians over perceived or actual internal repression on the grounds of gender oriejntation - most of the members of General Assembly don't even have women's suffage yet, and in most of them again, homosexuality is still on the books as serious criminal offence, an indictable felony either at or just below that of rape, indecent assault or acts of bestiality.

Aggressively demanding respect and acknowledgement of equal status as a peer from Putin's Russia from a position of weakness or foolish youthful nativity will inevitably lead you in the direction of just one place, and that's burried in a forrest outside Smolensk, while Putin man-hugs your hand-picked successor to share in his grief over your tragic loss.

Just ask a Pole.
